Welcome, Barbara Edlund Healy, to In-Focus Podcast Number 109. Barbara’s paintings reflect the quiet beauty of the New England coast.
Her oil and acrylic paintings are inspired by the diverse colors of light, atmosphere, and nature. Barbara uses color to enliven peaceful landscapes, seascapes, and gardens. Brushstrokes over glimpses of color intentionally reveal some of her painting process.
After growing up in South Windsor Connecticut, Barbara attended the College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Her degree in textile design has given her a background in color but she often paints Plein Air to learn from nature.
She talks with The Artist Index’s host, Ron Fortier, and reveals more of her life, art, and challenges as an artist. This episode was recorded with Zoom “post-pandemic” in 2022.
We offer the option to our guests of recording their podcasts in our studio at the Spectrum Marketing Group in Howland Place or via Zoom following Covid protocol and depending on the current circumstances of the pandemic.
We all hope that there will be an end in sight for the COVID-19 Pandemic. Until then, we will continue to podcast remotely, assisted by Zoom, to accommodate our guests’ schedules and to allow them to remain in the comfort of their homes.
