In Focus Podcast

Episode 112

…Peter has been with the Kilburn Mill for nearly four decades!

PETER ANDRADE

Welcome, Peter Andrade, to In-Focus Podcast Number 112. Peter is about as art-adjacent as anyone can be!  Although he says he has no artistic talent, he does appreciate art and the artists that surround him!

He interacts with painters, writers, musicians, and, well, lots of artists every day as the property manager for the Kilburn Mill on Clarks Point in the south end of the city of New Bedford, Massachusetts. Peter started working at the mill when he was a very young man.

Listen in as Peter relates the history of the mill from its spinning days during the height of New Bedford’s cotton textile era, to the now fabled Furniture City, and on to its transformation into a much-needed south end destination featuring artist studios, the city’s newest entertainment venue, and so much more!

Peter talks with The Artist Index’s host, Ron Fortier, about his 33-years at the Kilburn and reveals more of his life and the role he’s played in the development of the art community at the Kilburn. This episode was recorded with Zoom “post-pandemic” in 2022.

We offer the option to our guests of recording their podcasts in our studio at the Spectrum Marketing Group in Howland Place or via Zoom following Covid protocol and depending on the current circumstances of the pandemic.

We all hope that there will be an end in sight for the COVID-19 Pandemic. Until then, we will continue to podcast remotely, assisted by Zoom, to accommodate our guests’ schedules and to allow them to remain in the comfort of their homes.

The whole concept of The Artists Index and the journey we are on is are still in the making and very organic. If you would like to be a guest or, have a suggestion, please let us know!
