In Focus Podcast

Episode 113

…dipping pops songs in a variety of interesting sounds, from crunchy to dreamy and everything in between…

SCOTT BISHOP

Welcome, Scott Bishop, to In-Focus Podcast Number 113. Scott is a New Bedford-based singer, songwriter, and sound sculptor. He’s been creating music under the name Scapeghost since 2016.

He says he’s been, “dipping pops songs in a variety of interesting sounds, from crunchy to dreamy and everything in between.” Scott’s most recent and ongoing project, supported by the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park, is NBWaves, which brings the sonic DNA of New Bedford into the music.

NBWaves was made by making field recordings around the city, running them through a sampler, and writing and recording new songs with them. The initial EP, Electronic (First Wave), features sounds recorded at Play Arcade and Buttonwood Park Zoo.

Scott talks with The Artist Index’s host, Ron Fortier, and reveals more of his life and art. Scott is also our new Performing Arts Podcast Host! He is one of several professional musicians who will be helping The Artists Index to record more podcasts with more artists. This episode was recorded with Zoom “post-pandemic” in 2022.

We offer the option to our guests of recording their podcasts in our studio at the Spectrum Marketing Group in Howland Place or via Zoom following Covid protocol and depending on the current circumstances of the pandemic.

We all hope that there will be an end in sight to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Until then, we will continue to podcast remotely, assisted by Zoom, to accommodate our guests’ schedules and to allow them to remain in the comfort of their homes.

The whole concept of The Artists Index and the journey we are on is are still in the making and very organic. If you would like to be a guest or, have a suggestion, please let us know!
