In Focus Podcast
Going back to his roots, the streets of DC later became a focus of his art….
Welcome, Kathi Chase, to In-Focus Podcast Number 121. Kathi is a Fairhaven-based, self-taught artist working primarily in acrylic paints. She has an associate’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science.
Kathi Chase has worked in the medical field for over 20 years. At a young age, Kathi started drawing cartoon characters by copying movie covers. Over the years it evolved as she picked up new skills in school art classes.
As a young adult, she took an evening oil painting class at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School. She was hooked. Over the years Kathi switched to acrylic paints due to the quick drying time.
Her primary focus is landscape paintings but she’s done other subjects as well. Kathi enjoys painting on canvas but has also done mural work & other media as well.
Kathi is one of our featured, Fairhaven Cultural Council grant-supported Fairhaven-based artists. She talks with The Artist Index’s host, Ron Fortier, and reveals more of her life, art, and challenges as an artist. This episode was recorded with Zoom “post-pandemic” in 2022.
We offer the option to our guests of recording their podcasts in our studio at the Spectrum Marketing Group in Howland Place or via Zoom following Covid protocol and depending on the current circumstances of the pandemic.
We all hope that there will be an end in sight to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Until then, we will continue to podcast remotely, assisted by Zoom, to accommodate our guests’ schedules and to allow them to remain in the comfort of their homes.
