In Focus Podcast

Episode 15

Questions of heritage, homeland, race, family, place are addressed by elements of colors, textures, and fragmentation.

Wanda Medina

Welcome artist Wanda Medina to In-Focus Podcast Number 15.

Wanda graduated with a BFA degree from Swain School of Design in New Bedford in 1979 and her MFA in 1982 from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She is a painter. Her works, according to her, “Tend to start as paintings on burlap and frequently incorporate mixed-media elements as well.”

About her work, Wanda says, “Each piece in the body of my recent work are pieces of questions in a search for the center of my true self. Patterns confuse visual space, destroy form and redefine images to suggest the interconnection of all the parts.”

Listen in on her conversation as The Artist Index’s host, Ron Fortier delves into her background and contributions to the community, her art, and life!

The whole concept of The Artists Index and the journey we are embarking on are still in the making and very organic. If you would like to be a guest or, have a suggestion, please let us know!
