Episode 41

Butch, a part of the musical fabric of the Southcoast since the seventies is also a painter!

Butch McCarthy

Welcome, Butch McCarthy! Butch has been a part of the musical fabric of the Southcoast since the seventies.  He’s been involved in art and music all of his life but it wasn’t until he was in his 50s that he picked up a brush and began to paint seriously.

Butch works from his home studio in Downtown New Bedford. He’s shown work at Gallery X and Frying Pan Galleries on the Cape. He works with acrylic paints on canvas and wood board.

Listen in on the conversation as The Artist Index’s host, Ron Fortier, speaks with Butch McCarthy about life, his musical life, and the Greater New Bedford music scene, as well as, his second passion; painting. This podcast episode is sponsored in part by Heavenly Spirits.

The whole concept of The Artists Index and the journey we are embarking on are still in the making and very organic. At this critical time in our country’s history, as we are experiencing and attempting to remain safely at home during the Covid 19 Pandemic, we will continue to podcast.
