Episode 76
Friend & Co-Founder of The Artists Index…
JEFF WOTTON
Welcome my friend, co-founder of The Artists Index Website Project, and a very rare young man to In-Focus Podcast Number 76. This bio is different from the rest because I (Ron Fortier) wouldn’t have had the opportunity to be involved in this wonderful project had I not met Jeff at Ayur Shri, an Indian restaurant in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts in 2011.
I was doing marketing consulting work for the restaurant at the time and Jeff was there to sell his restaurant week event to the owners, who asked me to meet with him. Somehow, this young man, who is younger than my eldest daughter, and I became friends, and the idea to document the artists of the creative community of the South Coast of Massachusetts was born.
Jeff asked me to join him as a consultant at Spectrum Marketing Group, his then-fledgling marketing and advertising agency at the Howland Place in the south end of the city of New Bedford, Massachusetts. He is the son I never had and a pivotal character in the story of my life and, most importantly, responsible for bringing my wife Paula Batchelor into my life.
Jeff is an excellent businessman, phenomenal father and husband, and a throwback to another time. He is also an artist in his own right, a musician, a farmer, and well, I think I’ve embarrassed him sufficiently since he is not one for praise and accolades. By the way, we reunited for the first time in a year at our podcast studio at Spectrum Marketing Group.
Listen in on this conversation as The Artist Index’s host, Ron Fortier delves more into Jeff’s life, work, and future ambitions. This episode was recorded with Zoom during the pandemic of 2020. The whole concept of The Artists Index and the journey that Jeff Wotton and Ron Fortier are on is are still in the making and very organic. And, at this critical time in our country’s history, challenged by the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have continued to podcast remotely, assisted by Zoom, in order to assure that our guests remain safe and, in the comfort of their home.
