In Focus Podcast
Mark’s biggest influences have always been the artists he meets in his travels and at home…
Welcome, Mark Alex Gleicher, a South Coast, Massachusetts painter, to In-Focus Podcast Number 86. Born and raised on the South Coast, Gleicher grew up in his family’s art gallery and frame shop in Dartmouth where he learned about art, art history, and became immersed in the local art scene.
After traveling around America for a few years, Gleicher enrolled at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth where he met his lifelong collaborator, Jamie Boutin. Gleicher has worked as an art educator and, maintained studios in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Mark’s biggest influences have always been the artists he meets in his travels and at home. Mark Gleicher’s first exhibit was the inaugural juried exhibition for Artworks! (now incorporated into the New Bedford Art Museum) at the Rotch Jones Duff House and, spent many few years showing exclusively at Gallery X.
Listen in on the conversation as The Artist Index’s host, Ron Fortier delves more into Mark’s life, work, and future ambitions. This episode was recorded with Zoom post-pandemic in 2021.
