Our Next Salon Series Presentation: ARTIST ESTATES

Attorney Brandon Walecka will discuss artist estates. Learn how to understand artist-specific estate planning relating to both physical artwork and intellectual property. Join us for this free event on Wednesday, October 21st from 6 pm- 7:30 pm. Registration is required.

Learn why an artist’s estate is vital to protecting a lifetime of creative work from being scattered, mismanaged, or lost entirely after the artist passes. Estate preparation establishes clear legal control over intellectual property and physical assets. As an artist or an artist’s family member, you can protect the artist’s work while avoiding legal, tax, and other unexpected or unforeseen challenges.

The Artists Index Salon Series informs, inspires, and connects local artists through a series of engaging workshops and conversations. Each salon also provides valuable networking opportunities, sharing experiences, and building connections across the South Coast’s creative community.

The Artists Index is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to documenting, promoting, and connecting the creative community across the South Coast. Through partnerships, live events, publications, podcasts, and digital media, the organization supports artists in being included, being counted, and being found.

The Salon Series is funded in part by a grant from the New Bedford Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
