Dr. Connor has a staggering personal art collection…
Richard C. Connor
Welcome art collector Richard Connor to In-Focus Podcast Number 51. Richard is actually Dr. Richard C. Connor, Evolutionary Biologist!
He has recently retired as a Professor of Biology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Dr. Connor obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz and his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
Richard Connor had post-doctoral appointments at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and Harvard University. He was also a fellow at the Michigan Society of Fellows as well as at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University.
Listen in on his conversation as The Artist Index’s host, Ron Fortier delves more into Richard’s life and his obsession with art which started off when he visited Paris. He was a weekend booth dealer buying from other dealers and at auctions and, then, one day, he saw the work of the deceased New Bedford, Massachusetts painter, Joseph Edwards Alexander (1947–2008).
Recorded with Zoom during the pandemic. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR THE PODCAST LINK or LISTEN HERE! (new episodes are added a short time after being posted here)
The whole concept of The Artists Index and the journey we are embarking on are still in the making and very organic. At this critical time in our country’s history, as we are experiencing and attempting to remain safely at home during the COVID-19 Pandemic, we will continue to podcast.
